Consultation Call for Individual Counseling

The first step in the process is scheduling a free 15-minute phone consultation. During this call, we will briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. I will also share information about the types of therapy I offer and which approach may be a good fit for your needs.

If you plan to use insurance for future sessions, please have your insurance information available so we can review your coverage. We will also talk through next steps, including scheduling options and how to prepare for your first session.

If it turns out that we are not the right fit to work together, I would be happy to help connect you with additional referrals.

Intake Appointment for Individuals

Whether you feel excited or a little nervous about your first appointment, I will do my best to make the experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Here are a few things to know before your first session:

You will receive intake forms through a secure client portal. Please complete all required forms prior to our first appointment.

On the day of your appointment, come into the lobby and you are welcome to relax in the waiting area and enjoy tea or coffee until I come out to meet you at our scheduled time.

During our first session, we will review your intake information, begin getting to know one another, and talk about your goals for therapy as well as recommendations for future sessions.

Ongoing Appointments for Individuals

As we continue our work together, we will focus on strengthening the therapeutic relationship, building trust, and gaining deeper insight into your personal experiences. Our sessions will support meaningful emotional growth and provide space for reflection and healing.

When the time feels right, we will begin discussing the transition out of counseling, reflecting on the progress you have made and recognizing the effort and growth that brought you there.
